Loungeroom Wedding

Well, the day finally came!

I swear to God I thought this day would never get here! I’m serious, time seemed to crawl by with an almost inconsiderate slowness. I suppose I should just be thankful that it all came together at the last minute!

As I think I already said, the wedding was incredibly small, just Marissa and I, in fact, as my parents were stranded at the airport back home. Their plane was cancelled due to bad weather. What a hassle! Still, they both sent their love, which was the next-best thing.

It was a bit of a shame that we couldn’t do things the traditional way, but it just wouldn’t fit into the budget, besides, it’s not the party that matters, is it? It’s what Marissa and I feel for one another that’s important to me.

Now, thanks to the kindness of family and friends, we’re jetting off to Paris for our honeymoon. We were going to be going to the Carribbean, but apparently, they have a few piracy problems there.

(At least, one of my true-crime books has a bit about that. Apparently, drug-runners have been killing or kidnapping the yachties so they can use the boats. I will not vouch for the truth of this.)

Now, however, Mother is really on my case about getting grandchildren. There must be something that triggers in women when they retire, so that they constantly badger their offspring about this sort of thing. It wouldn’t be so bad, normally, but now Father has got in on the act too, saying something about ‘bouncing a chubby babe upon his knee’. I’ll ‘chubby babe’ him shortly, if he doesn’t quit it! It’s not that I don’t want little ones, because I do, it’s just that I don’t know how Marissa will react to the subject. She’s a career woman, you see. Still, plenty of time!

(Is it just me, or does anyone else think that Ryan is like the late Edward Hutchings? I think it’s his rather prissy manner of speaking. Or, maybe it is just me! Oh, Katie? About 3 weeks ago, I got a Great White Shark tattooed on my right arm, and yesterday, I got my favourite movie mass-murderer tatooed on my left, and no, it didn’t hurt a bit! :) )
