I Must Be Crazy

Well, I said I’d be back, and back I came. Katie had a really good idea about the subject of this round of blogging, but after some thought, I decided to attempt the original Legacy Challenge. I’m only running the base game at the moment, my laptop won’t handle all the expansion packs. All my old hacks are on the big computer, so it’ll be interesting to see how long it takes me to go completely bonkers. Enjoy.

Name: Logan, Jonathan J (please don’t ask me what the J stands for, I have no idea)
Age: twenty-something (he swore me to secrecy about that)
Hair: Black
Eyes: Green
Stats:
Sloppy/Neat: 6 (well, I guess that means he flushes the toilet and won’t sponge-bathe at the sink)
Shy/Outgoing: 3 (I guess that makes him a little timid)
Lazy/Active: 6 (great, he ain’t gonna slouch, or spend all his time on the sofa)
Serious/Playful: 4 (hmmm, can’t think of a smart-aleck comment to go along with this one)
Grumpy/Nice: 6 (or was it Grouchy? Either way, he ain’t it!)
Bio:
Well, he’s one of those thinks-he-knows-it-all Knowledge Sims, but I’m sure the dart-throw could have turned out worse than it did. I mean, I can’t, and won’t, start a Legacy with a Romance Sims (although they are a fun way to explore the vindictive side of my nature).

house1

I couldn’t remember if I was supposed to start with a 5x5 lot or the next size down, so I went with the biggest one. So, he got a tiny little shack perched up on a little hill because I didn’t notice that the lot was slightly hilly until I first started to build on it, and didn’t have the money to level the terrain. Huh, I don’t envy the poor sod, living in a little two-room hovel, and I don’t think he liked it much either, so I quickly got him a job in the Medical field and had him work on the skills he’d need to get promoted, not to mention keep him happy enough to keep the job.

fire

Although, on second thought, maybe I should have had him work on his cooking skills, because his first dinner, he, well, fried it, and his stove as well. As you can see, his aspiration score took a bit of a hit, but he didn’t, thank God, get a visit from the SimShrink, because you lose points for that, don’t you? But, the good thing was, he met Miss Margaret Howe, who came to put out the fire, and since she was the only other adult poor JJ had seen all day, I had him tip her one measly Simoleon (did I spell that right?). I even had him call her up as soon as he’d choked his way through dinner, because his social bar was getting incredibly low.

work1

I’m sure he was still half asleep when he went to work the next day, but hey, it’s not my fault that he only had a lousy, uncomfortable sofa to sleep on, but I did buy him a cheap bed as soon as he’d got home and paid his bills. The only thing is, I have to move the phone into the bathroom each night so the poor fellow could get some sleep!

Still, after a couple of days and a promotion or two, I could afford to put in an extra bedroom, put some windows and a light in, and I was even able to get him some carpet and other floor coverings. Woopee. Oh, and the easel, I forgot the easel, and when JJ wasn’t working on his skills, going on weird cleaning sprees, and sleeping, I had him divide his time between painting and talking to Margaret on the phone. It is so weird, I have only seen two people, the paper kid and the postman, walk past the house. Where the heck is everyone???

love1

I didn’t even realize Margaret was actually at the house at first, until I heard a giggle that wasn’t JJ’s, and I can’t believe I almost missed that photo op! Heh, give a fella a pinch on the backside, and he’s yours forever, although I have no idea what the deal with his head is. I guess his comfort need must have been really low or something. Either that or he’s trying a funky new dance! Or maybe he’s just a dork. What do you think? I wonder if Margaret knows he’s flat-broke?

  2. I thought I commented on this, but maybe you just haven’t moderated it. Anyway, Chapter 3: In the Trench, is up at my site. Nikki tries to quiet Catherine’s questions while her mother’s nerves are on edge.
